Go to the Facebook page below for interaction with other librarians.  This post will disappear soon

  1. great to see; I look forward to a lot of discussion.

  2. Thank you. I do hope people will find this and share what they have accomplished in their libraries.

  3. I have a question. Actually, a couple. I need more space in the very small library. I was told a few years ago to slowly eliminate the VHS tapes, and to slowly increase the number of DVDs. The VHS machines (I was told) will not be repaired, as the church is going away from that format. I am wondering if anyone else is doing that? the members find the DVDs much easier to work with.

    1. Yes, you can start with a few DVDs. This first one wasn't at the Distribution Center and they located 4 copies at Deseret Book.
04784 Come Unto Me Eng. DVD Has Man's Search for Happiness, Come Follow Me, Morality for Youth, Where Jesus Walked, In His Holy House and The Heavens Are Open.
00384 Gospel Messages DVD English Video recordings on DVD has Our Heavenly Father's Plan, Together Forever, What Is Real?, Labor of Love and The Prodigal Son.
00373 Inspirational Videos, DVD multilingual has Called to Serve, Morality for Youth, Windows of Heaven and How Rare a Possession: the Book of Mormon. A couple like the first DVD.
00384 Introductory Gospel Messages DVD, multilingual has Our Heavenly Father’s Plan, Together Forever, What is Real?, Labor of Love and The Prodigal Son. Looks like the rest of the first DVD is included in that one.
00372 Phase 1 Video Eng. DVD Includes Man's Search for Happiness, The First Vision and The Restoration of the Priesthood.
00374 Phase 2 Video Eng. DVD Includes 10 inspirational video segments for missionary and home use but I do not have a copy of it yet to know which videos are included.
54127 Stories of Christmas. DVD has Mr. Krueger's Christmas, Nora's Christmas Gift, The Story of the Other Wise Man and The Nativity.
One of the workers at the Distribution Center told me about a month ago that the most used, requested ones are being put on DVD and 1 will come out every few months.

  4. I would love to hear what other librarians have done concerning the Youth 2013 C. Our unit purchased media players that hook up to the TVs, and I spent the last 3 months downloading, saving to flash drive and indexing them. I didn't go the DVD route, because it is easy to add new videos to the flash drives.
